Evaluation of clinic-pathological characteristics, prognostic factors and treatment outcomes in patients with ESFT in children and young adults.
● Principal Investigator: Dr. Sandeep Jain
To study the demography, clinical characteristics, treatment and outcome of patients with EwS
To analyse the prognostic factors for event free survival
All patients up to 21 years of age with proven tissue diagnosis of osseous or nonosseous EwS and adequately staged diagnosed between January 2012 and December 2020
● Exclusion Criteria:
Partially treated patients (treated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy prior to
definitive treatment)
Relapse ESFT
Second malignancy
Ewing sarcoma is second most common primary bone tumour next to osteosarcoma. Treatment involves multidisciplinary care with systemic chemotherapy and local control (surgery or radiotherapy or combination of both). With the contemporary treatment, overall survival of localised disease has improved to the tune of 70%. However, outcome of metastatic disease still remains unsatisfactory. There is paucity of data about epidemiology, treatment pattern and outcome from India. This study is an attempt to fill that gap to collect data from India to assess current status and plan future strategies.
